Bachelor of Fine Arts, Syracuse University, Film Art | 2009

Video Producer, Communications Dept., EXPLO (Exploration School, Inc.) | 2016-Current
My responsibilities include planning, scripting, coordinating, capturing, editing, publishing, and archiving all digital video content for the organization, both internally and externally. Not just limited to offline projects, I spearheaded an initiative to incorporate multi-camera livestreams into our recruiting process. I created content for the official EXPLO website, including hero videos and landing page content. I also created the EXPLO YouTube channel and developed content specific to our existing social media platforms. In addition to my role as Video Producer, I create content for and assist in maintaining the EXPLO website and associated landing pages.
Video Producer, EXPLO Studio, EXPLO (Exploration School, Inc.) | 2016-Current
EXPLO Studio’s role within the larger EXPLO organization is an outreach wing, creating hands-on, engaging, and innovative curriculum to further spread the EXPLO message of project-based learning into schools around the world. Our strategy is to create video content that supplements, informs, or expands upon new and existing curriculum projects, ranging from courses such as Paper 1, an engineering-focused STEM course centered around projects that could be completed using standard 8½x11” sheets of paper, to Cable Commandos, a project where students must construct and balance a cable car rig to rescue a city from destruction at the hands of a looming paper dinosaur.
Director of Photography/Camera Dept., Freelance | 2010-Current
From music videos to short independent films, from branded commercial advertisements to streaming content, from reality television shows to documentary films, I’ve worked as a Director of Photography, Camera Operator, or Assistant Camera on numerous projects over the course of nearly ten years as a freelancer. I've worked with camera systems as small as DSLRs like Canon and Sony, and I've worked with systems as large as the Aaton Penelope and RED Epic. I've shot and edited work in 8mm, 16mm, 35mm, HD, and 4K. I’ve even accrued many hours on Grip & Electric teams and worked in Art Departments to accumulate as much information about the collective filmmaking and video production processes as possible.
Associate Producer, A&E’s “Flipping Boston” | 2011-2012
On the television show, “Flipping Boston,” I was responsible for day-to-day wrangling of the cast, noticing and developing stories as they occurred, shooting constant b-roll, timelapses, interviews, and functioning as a B-camera on major plot points.
Sales Associate, Hunt’s Photo & Video | 2010-2011
Working in photography and video camera sales was a prime opportunity for me to keep abreast of current and new camera technologies, lenses and accessories. It was really a time to fall in love with gear and to really learn what separates various makes and models. Sales Associates at Hunt's work in a direct customer service role, often serving repeat clients, enabling me to build relationships and stay focused on meeting the customer’s needs above all else.
Adjunct Professor, Syracuse University | 2009-2010
In working with the Urban Video Project, I was asked to bring my experiences to the classroom, where I was given responsibility of teaching two classes in Syracuse University’s Department of Industrial & Interaction Design. One class focused on a partnership with Syracuse Opera, where students created the video backdrop to accompany a live performance of Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman. The other class focused on a partnership with a local business, where students designed interactive displays to reconfigure a storefront in downtown Syracuse as part of a revitalization initiative.
Video Producer, Urban Video Project, Syracuse University | 2008-2010
I began working with Urban Video Project in its earliest stages as a student at Syracuse University. I worked with a faculty member in the University’s Department of Industrial & Interaction Design and together we developed the world’s first permanent, outdoor video projection installations in various locations across downtown Syracuse. The projection sites were massive 40’ walls on the sides of brick buildings. The projectors were the self-sufficient automobile-sized containers installed on nearby rooftops. The exhibits were a part of a multimedia public art initiative that opened the platform to everyone from community members and local students to internationally-renowned video artists and photographers.
